Yesterday, Major League Baseball released the All-Star Game rosters for both the American and National Leagues. As far as players selected, I don't have too many complaints for you. The one thing that I do find bothersome, however, is that two major market teams with strong international (Asian) popularity stemming from foreign players (i.e. Dice-K, Fukodome) absolutely DOMINATED the popular vote. Much akin to how Yao Ming has lead NBA All-Star voting the past few years.

News Flash
Derek Jeter is NOT DESERVING of what will be his 9th career All-Star appearance. DJ will be the starting SS for the American League.
- Jeter is hitting .281 (career avg .316) which ranks him tied for 8th w/ Erick Aybar among AL SS.
- D-Gay has 4 HRs, 37 RBI, and 48 R, ranking him 5th, 4th, and 3rd respectively. On the other hand Orlando Cabrera (CWS) has 6HR, 35 RBI, and 52 R, yet is not an All-Star.
His fielding isn't any better.
- Jeter has committed 8 errors so far this year, and has a .976 fielding %, lower than Cabrera, Michael Young, Edgar Renteria, and Jhonny Peralta. Only 1 of those 4 is an All Star.
Derek Jeter received 3,747,347 All-Star Votes. More than DAN UGGLA, GRADY SIZEMORE, and NATE MCCLOUTH COMBINED. 6th most out of ALL MLB Players. Judging by even this short analysis, he's just about the 6th best AL SHORTSTOP. I'm going back to work...
